There was celebration on the island this weekend when A Taste of Arran beat off stiff competition from twenty other companies to win the Food Tourism Award at the Highland and Islands Food & Drink Awards on Thursday night at a celebratory dinner held in the Drumossie Hotel, Inverness.
These prestigious awards celebrate the diverse range of food & drink products grown and produced locally, and attracted 90 entries from a wide range of companies. The Food Tourism award was presented by Mo Shepherd of SEERAD, and the category attracted by far the highest number of applications.
‘The standard of entries was extremely high and this was a very difficult decision’, commented one of the judges.
'It's our aim to educate & inspire customers about the Isle of Arran as a tourism destination as much as the home of great food' states Alastair Dobson, MD of Taste of Arran.
